Educational Information
The Raptor Area houses bald eagles, hawks, owls, and vultures in outdoor flight enclosures managed entirely by zoo technology students. Each raptor serves as an ambassador for its species, helping educate visitors about bird of prey conservation and ecology.
Many of the raptors at the Teaching Zoo are non-releasable birds that were injured in the wild and rehabilitated. They serve a vital educational role while receiving expert care from student zookeepers.
