Dolphin Research Center is a nonprofit education and research facility located on Grassy Key in the Florida Keys. Home to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions living in natural saltwater lagoons carved from the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico, DRC is dedicated to promoting peaceful coexistence between marine mammals and humans.
Founded in 1984, DRC conducts peer-reviewed research on dolphin cognition, communication, and behavior while offering some of the most intimate dolphin encounter programs in the country. The facility’s dolphins live in sea pens with natural tidal flow rather than closed tanks.
DRC holds AMMPA accreditation and is recognized as a leader in marine mammal education and research.
