4/5 Expert Rating

Educational Information

LAIR is a state-of-the-art 9,000-square-foot facility dedicated to the world's most underappreciated animals. The collection includes Komodo dragons, Burmese pythons, poison dart frogs, and dozens of other extraordinary reptile and amphibian species rarely seen in major zoological collections.

Amphibians are experiencing a global extinction crisis, with nearly one-third of all known species threatened. The LA Zoo participates in breeding-for-release programs for critically endangered frog species.
