Southern Company River Scout

Southern Company River Scout explores the freshwater ecosystems of North America, from Appalachian mountain streams to the rivers and wetlands of the Southeast. The exhibit features North American river otters, alligators, and native freshwater fish species.

Freshwater ecosystems support a disproportionately large share of biodiversity despite covering only 1% of Earth's surface. River Scout educates visitors about the importance of clean water, watershed protection, and freshwater conservation.
