Gorilla Preserve

The Gorilla Preserve houses a troop of Western Lowland Gorillas in a naturalistic habitat with both indoor and outdoor areas. The design incorporates features that encourage natural social behavior, cognitive enrichment, and foraging across multiple substrate types.

San Francisco Zoo participates in cooperative population management and funds field conservation programs in Central Africa to protect gorillas in their natural habitat.
