Pacific Northwest

The Pacific Northwest exhibit features Steller sea lions and harbor seals in large outdoor pools with rocky haul-out areas. Daily presentations showcase these pinnipeds' natural behaviors, intelligence, and adaptations to life in cold North Pacific waters.

Steller sea lions are the largest of all sea lion species, with males weighing up to 2,500 pounds. Western populations are listed as Endangered due to declining fish stocks and environmental change. Mystic Aquarium's research contributes to understanding and protecting these impressive marine mammals.
