Institute for Marine Mammal Studies

The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies (IMMS) in Gulfport, Mississippi, is a premier marine mammal stranding response and research facility on the Gulf Coast. As the primary responder for marine mammal and sea turtle strandings along the Mississippi coastline, IMMS has rescued and rehabilitated thousands of animals since its founding.

The facility features educational exhibits where visitors can meet non-releasable dolphins and sea lions while learning about Gulf Coast marine ecology. IMMS was the first facility in Mississippi to earn American Humane Certified status, reflecting its dedication to animal welfare.
