Dolphin Discovery

Dolphin Discovery features non-releasable Atlantic bottlenose dolphins in a saltwater habitat where visitors can observe these intelligent marine mammals up close. Interactive educational presentations demonstrate dolphin echolocation, social behavior, and the research programs conducted by IMMS scientists.

IMMS serves as the primary stranding response organization for dolphins along the Mississippi coastline. Many of the facility's resident dolphins were rescued after injuries or illness that prevented their return to the wild, making them valuable educational ambassadors for marine conservation.
