The Wetland Overlook provides elevated viewing of a restored marsh and pond ecosystem that attracts migratory waterfowl, herons, turtles, and native amphibians. Seasonal interpretation panels help visitors identify the ducks, geese, and songbirds that use the wetland as a migratory stopover.

Wetlands are among the most ecologically productive habitats on Earth, providing flood control, water filtration, and critical habitat for wildlife. The greater Chicago region has lost over 90% of its original wetlands to development, making restored wetlands like this one increasingly important for biodiversity.
