Educational Information
Primate Paradise houses lemurs, capuchin monkeys, and other primates in naturalistic habitats with climbing structures, rope bridges, and lush vegetation. The exhibit highlights the diversity of the primate order and the conservation challenges facing our closest relatives in the animal kingdom.
Lemurs are found only on the island of Madagascar, where more than 90% of species are threatened with extinction due to slash-and-burn agriculture and illegal logging. Primate Paradise educates visitors about the plight of Madagascar's unique wildlife and the community-based conservation programs working to protect it.
