Little Rock Zoo

Little Rock Zoo is a 33-acre zoo located in War Memorial Park in Arkansas’s capital city. Home to more than 700 animals representing over 200 species, the zoo blends wildlife education with local history — its Over the Jumps carousel is a National Historic Landmark and the only surviving track-style carousel in the United States.

Since its founding in 1926, Little Rock Zoo has grown into a respected regional institution committed to conservation education and animal welfare. The zoo participates in multiple AZA Species Survival Plans and supports field conservation programs for cheetahs, penguins, and other vulnerable species. Its compact, walkable layout makes it an accessible family destination in central Arkansas.

Little Rock Zoo holds AZA accreditation and serves as the primary wildlife education resource for the state of Arkansas.
