Boyd Family Red Panda Village

Boyd Family Red Panda Village is the crown jewel of Zoo Knoxville, featuring multiple red panda habitats with elevated walkways, bamboo groves, and intimate viewing areas. The zoo has produced over 100 red panda cubs, making it one of the most prolific breeding programs for this endangered species in the Western Hemisphere.

Red pandas are endangered with fewer than 10,000 remaining in the wild. Zoo Knoxville's breeding program has contributed significantly to the genetic diversity and sustainability of the AZA Species Survival Plan population, ensuring a genetically healthy insurance population against extinction.
