The Desert exhibit transports visitors to the arid landscapes of the American Southwest and Sonoran Desert, featuring roadrunners, rattlesnakes, tortoises, and other desert-adapted species. The climate-controlled indoor exhibit replicates the extreme conditions that desert animals have evolved to survive.

Deserts cover approximately one-third of Earth's land surface and support remarkably adapted species that can withstand extreme heat, cold, and water scarcity. Climate change and solar energy development are emerging threats to some desert ecosystems, making conservation awareness increasingly important.
