Sea Turtle Care Center

The Sea Turtle Care Center is one of the most active sea turtle rehabilitation facilities on the East Coast, treating injured, sick, and cold-stunned sea turtles for release back into the wild. South Carolina's coast provides critical habitat for loggerhead sea turtles, which nest on barrier island beaches each summer. The Sea Turtle Care Center has treated thousands of turtles since opening, addressing injuries from boat strikes, fishing line entanglement, and plastic ingestion.
