  • Brookfield Zoo Announces Wild Nights Summer Concert Series

    Brookfield Zoo has unveiled its most ambitious summer programming yet. The Wild Nights concert series will run every Friday evening throughout July and August, pairing live music from regional acts with themed animal encounters, craft food vendors, and extended zoo hours until 10 PM.

    “We want Wild Nights to be a Chicago tradition,” said Events Director Miriam Cho. “Great music, incredible animals, warm summer nights — what could be better?”

    Tickets are available online with member discounts, and a portion of proceeds will support Brookfield’s amphibian conservation programs.

  • National Zoo’s Smithsonian Conservation Gala Raises Record $4.2 Million

    The Smithsonian’s National Zoo hosted its annual Conservation Gala to record-breaking results, raising $4.2 million for global wildlife programs. The black-tie event drew 600 supporters including policymakers, conservationists, and celebrity wildlife advocates.

    “This evening proves that the public’s commitment to wildlife has never been stronger,” said National Zoo Director Dr. Brandie Smith. “These funds will directly support field conservation work on six continents.”

    Highlights included an intimate dinner beside the giant panda exhibit and a live auction of expedition experiences.
