Africa Exhibit

The Africa Exhibit at ABQ BioPark features Western lowland gorillas, African elephants, hippos, and a variety of savanna species in naturalistic habitats designed to reflect African ecosystems. The gorilla habitat includes multi-level climbing structures and lush vegetation that encourages natural foraging behaviors.

ABQ BioPark participates in the AZA Species Survival Plan for gorillas and supports field conservation programs in Central Africa. The exhibit educates visitors about the threats facing African wildlife from habitat loss, poaching, and civil conflict.
