Educational Information

Jaguar Jungle houses jaguars, monkeys, parrots, and other Neotropical species in a lush Central American rainforest setting. The jaguar habitat features dense vegetation, a waterfall, and a large pool — jaguars are among the few big cats that readily swim and hunt in water.

Jaguars are the largest cat in the Americas and the only member of the genus Panthera found in the New World. Their range has shrunk by over 50% due to deforestation and human conflict. Audubon Zoo supports jaguar conservation through partnerships with field researchers in Belize and Brazil.
