Brevard Zoo is a community-built zoo on 75 acres in Melbourne, Florida, featuring over 900 animals. Known for its unique kayak tours through the wetlands exhibit and hands-on wildlife experiences, the zoo has earned a reputation as one of Florida’s most innovative zoological institutions.
The zoo places a strong focus on conservation of Florida’s native wildlife and the restoration of the Indian River Lagoon, one of the most biodiverse estuaries in North America. Through the Restore Our Shores program, Brevard Zoo has planted thousands of mangroves and restored acres of shoreline habitat.
Brevard Zoo is AZA accredited through March 2029 and offers unique experiences including kayaking through African animal exhibits, zip-lining over wildlife habitats, and up-close animal encounters.
