Educational Information
White Gator Swamp is home to the world's largest collection of rare leucistic alligators — ghostly white gators with blue eyes that lack normal pigmentation. These extraordinary animals are extremely rare in the wild, where their coloring makes them vulnerable to predators.
Leucistic alligators are not albinos; they have a genetic condition that reduces pigment but retains blue eye color. Gatorland's leucistic alligators are among the most photographed animals in Florida.
