Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta is the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, housing more than 10 million gallons of water and thousands of animals representing hundreds of species. The aquarium is the only facility outside of Asia to house whale sharks, and it also features beluga whales, manta rays, and the largest collection of aquatic life in the Americas.

Opened in 2005 as a gift from Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus, Georgia Aquarium has become one of the world’s premier aquatic institutions. The Ocean Voyager exhibit alone holds 6.3 million gallons and features a 100-foot underwater tunnel where visitors walk beneath whale sharks and manta rays.

Georgia Aquarium holds both AZA and AMMPA accreditation and is a global leader in aquatic animal care, research, and conservation.
