Discovery Trail

Discovery Trail is a winding pathway through naturalistic exhibits featuring lions, meerkats, and smaller African species. The trail's intimate scale allows close-up animal viewing and creates a sense of exploration and discovery as visitors move from habitat to habitat.

Lions have lost over 90% of their historic range and face continued threats from habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and prey depletion. Africa's lion population has declined by approximately 43% over the past two decades, with an estimated 20,000 remaining in the wild.
