Educational Information
Land of the Tiger is home to Malayan and Sumatran tigers, two of the world's most endangered tiger subspecies. The habitat features lush Asian vegetation, pools for swimming, and elevated viewing areas that bring guests face-to-face with these magnificent cats.
Fewer than 400 Malayan tigers remain in the wild. Habitat destruction, prey depletion, and poaching are driving these subspecies toward extinction. Jacksonville Zoo participates in the AZA Tiger Species Survival Plan.
