Educational Information

The free-range lemur forest reserves allow lemurs to roam through natural Florida hardwood forest in large semi-wild enclosures. Ring-tailed lemurs, red ruffed lemurs, mongoose lemurs, and blue-eyed black lemurs live in family groups that exhibit natural social behaviors, foraging, and territorial displays.

Over 95% of lemur species are threatened with extinction, making lemurs the most endangered group of mammals on Earth. Madagascar has lost over 90% of its original forest cover, and the Lemur Conservation Foundation's breeding program is a critical safeguard against extinction.
