The Campo Gorilla Reserve is a world-class habitat for Western Lowland Gorillas, designed to replicate the lush rainforests of west-central Africa. Multi-level indoor and outdoor spaces allow gorillas to exhibit natural foraging, social grooming, and play behaviors.
Western Lowland Gorillas are critically endangered due to habitat destruction, bushmeat hunting, and infectious disease. The LA Zoo funds gorilla conservation in Cameroon and the Republic of Congo.
