Memphis Zoo is a 70-acre zoological garden in historic Overton Park, home to more than 3,500 animals representing over 500 species. One of only four US zoos to have exhibited giant pandas, Memphis Zoo is consistently ranked among the top zoos in the nation for its diverse collection and immersive exhibits.

Founded in 1906, Memphis Zoo has evolved into a major conservation institution participating in dozens of AZA Species Survival Plans. Its CHINA exhibit was one of the premier panda habitats in the Western Hemisphere until the pandas returned to China in 2023. The zoo’s Teton Trek, Cat Country, and Once Upon a Farm exhibits showcase wildlife from around the world in naturalistic settings.

Memphis Zoo holds AZA accreditation and welcomes over one million visitors annually, making it one of the most visited attractions in Tennessee.
