African Realm

The African Realm features giraffes, chimpanzees, and a variety of African species in habitats designed to evoke the savannas and forests of the continent. A giraffe feeding station allows visitors to hand-feed these gentle giants, creating a memorable personal connection with African wildlife.

Chimpanzees are our closest living relatives, sharing approximately 98% of our DNA. Wild chimpanzee populations are declining due to habitat destruction from logging, mining, and agricultural expansion across West and Central Africa. The African Realm educates visitors about the urgent need to protect great ape habitat.
