Ocean Exploration

Ocean Exploration is an interactive exhibit area with touch pools, underwater robotics demonstrations, and live animal encounters. The exhibit features local New England marine species alongside deep-sea creatures and promotes STEM education through hands-on ocean science experiences.

Less than 20% of the world's oceans have been explored. Mystic Aquarium partners with UConn to conduct ocean research using remotely operated vehicles, acoustic monitoring, and satellite tracking to unlock the mysteries of the deep sea.
