Water’s Edge

Water's Edge showcases polar bears and sea lions in expansive habitats designed to replicate Arctic and Pacific coastal environments. The polar bear exhibit features a massive underwater viewing tunnel where guests can watch bears dive and swim just inches away through thick acrylic panels.

Polar bears are one of the most iconic symbols of the climate crisis, dependent on sea ice that is rapidly disappearing. Pittsburgh Zoo supports polar bear conservation through the AZA Species Survival Plan and climate change education.
