Educational Information
The Aquarium Reptile Complex houses one of the most diverse reptile and amphibian collections in the Southeast, alongside freshwater and marine aquarium exhibits. Crocodilians, venomous snakes, sea turtles, and sharks are displayed in naturalistic settings with educational signage about each species' biology and conservation status.
Reptiles and amphibians face disproportionately high extinction risk, with habitat loss, disease (particularly the chytrid fungus affecting amphibians), climate change, and the wildlife trade threatening species worldwide. The complex educates visitors about these often-overlooked animals and their essential ecological roles.
