Educational Information

The African Savanna features giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and African antelope species in a two-acre mixed-species habitat designed to simulate the open grasslands of sub-Saharan Africa and encourage natural species interactions.

Savanna ecosystems cover nearly half of Africa and support the continent's famous megafauna. Climate change, agricultural expansion, and overgrazing are transforming these vital grasslands at an accelerating rate.
