Seahorse Kingdom

Seahorse Kingdom features multiple species of seahorses, pipefish, and sea dragons in delicately maintained aquariums that replicate their seagrass and coral habitats. The exhibit highlights the unique biology of seahorses, including their male pregnancy, prehensile tails, and independent eye movement.

Many seahorse species are threatened by habitat loss, pollution, and overcollection for traditional medicine, aquarium trade, and curios. An estimated 150 million seahorses are harvested annually worldwide. The exhibit raises awareness about seahorse conservation and the importance of protecting seagrass habitats.
