Predator Exhibit

The Predator Exhibit features bobcats, foxes, and raptors native to the Southern Appalachians in naturalistic enclosures that showcase their hunting adaptations. Educational presentations cover the ecological roles of predators in maintaining healthy forest ecosystems and the challenges of human-wildlife coexistence in mountain communities.

Predators play essential roles in regulating prey populations and maintaining ecosystem balance. The recovery of apex predators in the Southern Appalachians — including the potential return of cougars — is both an ecological opportunity and a human-wildlife conflict challenge that requires education and tolerance.
