Grasslands Africa

Grasslands Africa features African elephants, giraffes, zebras, and ostriches in a multi-acre savanna habitat with mixed-species yards, watering holes, and elevated viewing platforms. The exhibit recreates the open grasslands of East Africa and showcases the complex social dynamics of African megafauna.

African elephants are endangered, with populations declining due to poaching for ivory and habitat loss from human expansion. The exhibit educates visitors about elephant intelligence, family bonds, and the critical role these keystone species play in shaping African ecosystems.
