The West Indian Manatee is a gentle marine mammal threatened by boat strikes and habitat loss. ZooTampa operates one of the country's premier manatee rehabilitation facilities, rescuing and releasing hundreds of injured manatees since 1991.
Visitors can observe rescued manatees in a 442,000-gallon naturalistic habitat and learn about ongoing conservation efforts to protect Florida's official marine mammal.
